Every course is prepared with intention — honoring time-tested techniques while embracing thoughtful modern expression. The experience unfolds at an unhurried pace, allowing flavors to develop and a quiet conversation to build between guest, chef, and counter.

Michelin-starred · Edomae tradition

Blackpearl Omakase is led by Michelin-starred Omakase Chef Wei Chen, whose culinary journey began as an apprentice at MASA in New York City — the only three-Michelin-star Japanese restaurant in the United States, under the legendary Chef Masa Takayama. After years of rigorous training and refinement, Chef Wei moved to Florida, earning recognition in Tampa before bringing his craft to Ponte Vedra Beach.

His approach is rooted in humility, patience, and a relentless pursuit of perfection. Rather than imposing formality, he creates a space of calm and connection — where guests are invited to relax, engage, and fully experience each moment at the counter. His philosophy honors Edomae tradition while embracing subtle modern innovation, always guided by seasonality and respect for the ingredient.

Inspired by his sensei, Chef Masa Takayama, and presented in a setting reminiscent of classic sushi bars of old, Chef Wei's omakase is designed to feel timeless — both nostalgic and forward-looking.

Before You Join Us

A few notes to help the evening unfold as intended. All guests are served simultaneously, so arrival and preparation matter.

Arrival & Seating

To preserve the rhythm of the omakase experience, all guests are served simultaneously.

We kindly ask guests to arrive 15–30 minutes prior to the scheduled reservation time for a relaxed check-in and seating.

Out of respect for the experience and other guests, late arrivals may not receive all courses as intended. Seating may not be possible once the experience has begun.

Dietary Restrictions & Allergies

Omakase — "I leave it up to you" — is a seasonal tasting personally curated by our chefs and designed to be enjoyed in its entirety.

Due to the carefully prepared ingredients, we are unable to accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, or ingredient omissions. Our menu may include seafood, shellfish, beef, pork, dairy, gluten, and cooked alcohol.

Guests with dietary restrictions may not be able to fully participate. We appreciate your understanding.

Reservations & Cancellations

  • Reservations are secured with a credit card hold.
  • Rescheduling requires a minimum of 5 days' notice, subject to availability, and must be used within 30 days of the original date.
  • Cancellations within 48 hours of the reservation will incur the full omakase charge per guest.
  • Reservations may be transferred to another guest up to the day of the reservation.
  • Reservations for parties of 1 to 8.
